Woman Dead in Fatal Chesapeake Taylor Road Accident
A late night crash ended in tragedy when a woman succumbed to the injuries she sustained in a wreck. Police report that the February 4, 2018 collision occurred around 10:45 PM on Taylor Road. Early news stories say that a car was heading eastbound on Taylor Road when the driver attempted a left hand turn onto Taylor Court in the path of a westbound vehicle. The two cars collided, fatally injuring a passenger. She was rushed to the hospital where she later passed away. Police say the accident remains under investigation.
While the exact cause of the accident remains unknown, the time of day has to be factored in. Given that it was Superbowl Sunday and late at night, there is a chance that one or both of the drivers involved were drunk at the time of the accident. Either driver could end up facing serious charges if they were indeed drinking and driving.
Failing to Yield
Left turns are deceptively dangerous, especially at night when visibility is limited. Many people fail to accurately judge how much time they have to make their turn. They grow impatient and lurch into the path of oncoming traffic. This unfortunately leads to serious and sometimes fatal accidents. While it is still unclear exactly what caused this wreck, there is no doubt that the woman’s loved ones are grieving this week. We encourage them to reach out to a car accident lawyer for guidance on next steps. Her surviving family members may be entitled to compensation.
