Three Car Accident Kills One in Norfolk
Alcohol is not believed to have been a factor in a fatal multi-vehicle accident in Norfolk earlier this week. WAVY.com reports that police arrived on Roland Avenue around 6 AM the morning of March 13, 2018. They say the driver of a Cadillac CTS was heading north on Tidewater Drive when they lost control of their car, sliding across the median and slamming into a Ford Escort head-on. The collision forced the Escort back into a Chevrolet Silverado traveling behind the Escort. The driver of the Escort was killed in the crash, while the driver of the Cadillac suffered injuries. No charges have been filed at this time, but the incident remains under investigation.
Unexpected winter weather made roads throughout the region a mess this week, and authorities say the conditions could have played a role in this incident. Black ice early in the morning could very well have caused the Cadillac to slip out of the control of the driver. Until the investigation is complete, much will be left in question.
