2 Injured in Newport News Warwick Boulevard Accident
A Newport News crash has landed two people in the hospital. That is the news from WAVY.com, where reporters say police responded to the crash Monday, January 22nd, 2018 around 9:30 AM. When the arrived on scene, they found a van tipped onto its side and a Hyundai sedan that had also been involved. Investigations revealed that the driver of the Hyundai was turning left onto Logan Place from Warwick Boulevard. He did not have the right of way when he attempted the turn and collided with the van. Both drivers were injured in the crash, but the driver of the Hyundai was charged with failure to yield, driving without a license and driving with slick tires.
Dangerous Left Turns
There are few things as dangerous as failing to yield to oncoming traffic, particularly when making a left-hand turn. The drivers involved in this incident were lucky to escape with their lives. Left turns are incredibly unsafe, especially when a driver’s judgment is the deciding factor of whether to go or wait for traffic to pass by.
Justice for the Victim
While this may be a simple insurance claim, given the severity of the injuries and the nature of the accident, the victim involved may want to seek the guidance of a Virginia car accident lawyer. While not every car crash victim needs an attorney, those involving particularly reckless drivers or severe injuries can benefit from having a knowledgeable lawyer on their side.
